Have you been outside lately? I don’t mean have you walked from your car into work or walked from one store to another. Nor do I mean have you walked down the driveway to your mailbox today or merely opened the front door to see how cold or hot it is?
I mean have you, with giddy wonder and abandonment, been outside lately? Have you taken a deep breath of morning fresh air? Have you taken the time to swing in a hammock or relax in your favorite patio chair soaking up a few healthy sunny rays? (Note I said a few sunny rays, not hours and hours of unprotected skin under the sun rays.)
When was the last time you went for a walk just for the walks sake? When was the last time you went to a park or hiked a trail? Do you even notice the beauty of fall colors any more or wonder at the delicacy of a single snowflake? Does spring make you glad and summers fill you with delight?
If not, why not? Why can’t you, if you aren’t the driver, simply stick your head out the car window (so to speak) and just take a deep breath of fresh air?
It may be that you need to take a puppy lesson from sweet Nyla and just hang your head out the window and find the thrill and joy and adventure of a breath of fresh air!
