Lucy Lou likes her food!
Whether it is breakfast or a special treat, she eats heartily. Of course it’s gone in a few quick gulps, but she still enjoys it!
We need to do the same. Not the gulp it and swallow without chewing part, but the enjoying our food part. We should take the time to enjoy our food. More and more of us shovel food in as fast as the drive through can serve it.
Not only has the art of dining gone the way of the dinosaur, the bedrock practice of family supper is fast becoming extinct.
In the meantime our bellies are expanding and our pocket books are shrinking.
I have to wonder if we took more time to prepare our meals together and share them together (notice I didn’t say just eat, but to share a meal) if our families wouldn’t be healthier, both spiritually and physically. Just sayin’…
“Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” I Corinthians 10:31 (NASB)
