Love Well

For most of us it is rare to see in day to day reality the sacrificial deep love portrayed in “The Notebook”, but when we do it is breathtaking.

The kind of love that kept the elder Noah reading to the love of his love day after day when she didn’t even recognize him does not come from mere romantic feelings. That kind of love comes from deep within. It is self-sacrificing. It is an act of the will plodding forward when everything within and everyone without is screaming, “Give up.”

It is I Corinthians 13:4-8

“Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant,  does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away.”

As we close out the love month, let’s do all we can to exhibit this kind of love.
